    A native of Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district, Dr Peramsetty was the founder and medical director of the Crimson Care Network, a group of local medical professionals.

    An Indian-origin doctor was shot dead in in Tuscaloosa city of Alabama in the United States on Friday. Dr Ramesh Peramsetty, renowned physician who used to operate several hospitals in the country died on the spot.

    A native of Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district, Dr Peramsetty was the founder and medical director of the Crimson Care Network, a group of local medical professionals. He was well-regarded for his contributions to healthcare and practiced as a physician in Tuscaloosa.

    The Crimson Care Network Team expressed grief over the passing away of the doctor and said that it would continue to honour Peramsetty’s legacy. In a Facebook post, the Crimson Care Network said, “As many are aware at this moment, we have been informed of Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty’s passing. The Peramsetty family ask for us to give them privacy as they grieve his passing. They have received abundant out pouring of love and faith. We will continue to honor him as he would want us to do. Thank you for your understanding.”

    “Please continue to keep the Peramsetty and Crimson Care Network family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this challenging time. Our team is prepared to make more statements within the next few days. We will continue to honor his legacy. Our clinics remain open during the transition,” it added.

    Who was Doctor Peramsetty?

    According to his Wedmed page, Dr Peramsetty graduated from Sri Venkateswara Medical College in 1986 and had 38 years of medical experience. He specialised in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine and practiced in Tuscaloosa, and other four locations. He was also affiliated with the Regional Medical Center and held a Diploma in Child Health (DCH).

    In addition to his medical work, Dr Peramsetty donated Rs 14 lakh to Menakuru High School in Andhra Pradesh, where he studied, and contributed to the construction of a Sai temple in his village, according to the NDTV report.

    According to some local reports, a street in Tuscaloosa was named in Dr Peramsetty’s honour due to his key role in the medical field. Dr Peramsetty also played a crucial role during the Covid-19 pandemic, for which he received various awards. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters, all of whom are settled in the US.
