Jacob Fatu led a vicious attack as The Bloodline brutalized Roman Reigns on WWE SmackDown.

The Bloodline’s newest addition Jacob Fatu returned on WWE SmackDown to lead an attack on Roman Reigns. Nearly two weeks after Reigns’ unprecedented return at WWE SummerSlam 2024, the ex-Undisputed Champion was brutalised by the Bloodline on August 16. A wrestling fan shared the beatdown’s clip on X. The video began with Fatu hitting Reigns on the turnbuckle. He then rolled Roman Reigns out of the ring where Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga waited. The trio then picked Reigns up to hit a triple powerbomb on the announcers’ table. Talking about the attack, the user wrote, “Jacob Fatu destroys Roman Reigns, and The Bloodline sends him on the table.”

The latest episode of WWE SmackDown was televised live from Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. During an in-ring segment of the show, Solo Sikoa asked the Florida crowd to acknowledge him but was booed. Sikoa then called out Roman Reigns and said that the former champion would have to take the Tribal Chief necklace back from him. Reigns came out and entered the ring to stare down Sikoa. He then traded strikes with Sikoa. He then ducked a Samoan Spike before hitting a Superman punch to Sikoa. Just as he picked up the necklace Reigns was blindsided by a returning Jacob Fatu.

The feud between Roman Reigns and The Bloodline began brewing following the conclusion of WrestleMania 40. Reigns lost his Undisputed Championship to Cody Rhodes at the Show of the Shows and was absent from live TV until SummerSlam. Within that period, Solo Sikoa overthrew Reigns as the new Tribal Chief and took control of The Bloodline. He also added new enforcers to the faction including Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu. Sikoa’s reason behind seizing power was Reigns’ loss at WrestleMania 40. He felt that Reigns had dishonoured the Samoan name after conceding the title to Rhodes.

Within months of seizing control, Solo Sikoa challenged Cody Rhodes at WWE SummerSlam 2024 for the Undisputed Championship. During their epic battle in the company’s biggest event of the summer, Sikoa took The Bloodline’s help to secure an advantage for Rhodes. However, that didn’t last long as Reigns returned to take out his former teammates before hitting Sikoa with a spear. The intervention ultimately allowed Rhodes to retain his championship.

WWE is now slowly approaching a new premium live event in Germany, Bash at Berlin. The company will be eager to build on the feud by putting Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in a match together at SummerSlam.
