The MCU panel showed new footage and also had appearances from cast members including Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford and Danny Ramirez among others.

Marvel Studios made a grand return to San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, marking their first major presentation in two years, and once again, they impressed the audience like never before. The Marvel Comic-Con panel started by sharing a sneak peek of Captain America: Brave New World. The MCU panel showed new footage and also had appearances from cast members including Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford and Danny Ramirez among others. After Marvel Studios’ panel in Hall H, actor Ramirez shared his reaction to the enthusiastic response of the Comic-Con crowd to the Captain America: Brave New World clip. He reportedly said it made him reconsider specific moments during filming and gave him a new perspective on the project.

“I know, I’m the Falcon. It’s crazy,” Ramirez told ComicBook. He mentioned that the development of his Falcon suit, teased in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, took months. “It was months of developing it. And so as we were doing the run-up to film, it was like, all right, Danny, try this on. All right, try this on. And at the same time I was training, and so the suit kept changing and changing and changing. And by the time that it was ready for me to wear on set, I just remember looking at it and being like, oh that’s it. And then when I put it on finally and I was like, oh this is what it feels like and then just like figuring it out. It was amazing,” he added.

Responding to the audience’s reaction and energy, he said as per Comicbook, “The hall just explodes or like, oh my, it’s like it feels and it colors different moments that I think on the day were incredibly important to get right. But then to see the payoff and the excitement, I think there’s nothing I could replace that.”

Talking about the film’s action sequences, Ramirez described them as “real.” “We had some of the best stunt choreographers,” he said. “I worked with my trainer Nic Shimonek who trains like NFL athletes. And so I was like, bro, let’s get there. Let’s do it,” he added.

The upcoming Captain America film is being directed by Julius Onah. It stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America and Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres/Falcon. It was also revealed that actor Giancarlo Esposito will play Seth Voelker / Sidewinder and Harrison Ford will take over as President Thaddeus Ross (replacing the late William Hurt).

As for its tentative release date, Captain America: Brave New World is coming to theaters on February 14, 2025.
