Preity Zinta Opens Up On Her Unique Fashion Choices And Dedication To Promote Indian

After being absent from the limelight for several years, Preity Zinta has made a stunning comeback this year. She has been attending some of the most prestigious events and is expected to grace the silver screen with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947 slated for 2025. Be it her noteworthy looks at Cannes 2024 or her appearance at the Paris Couture Week, the actress has proved that she is the OG fashion icon, and no doubt everyone loves her style. Recently, in an interview with Vogue, the actress opened up about her iconic fashion choices. She also shared the vision behind pulling off some exquisite looks this year.

Speaking about her fashion choices, Preity Zinta stated, “On or off screen, I never wear anything that makes me feel uncomfortable or I don’t like. Clothes are meant to enhance you and make you feel good about yourself. So if you are not feeling like that in an outfit, don’t wear it.”

Preity Zinta’s unique and comfortable sense in her films has always been admired be it in Dil Chahta Hai or Soldier. On this, she said that she does not prefer clothes that are revealing or too bold. Sharing more details, she stated, “During any film shoot, if I felt the outfit was too revealing or a bit too crazy for me, I would always pull out clothes from my own wardrobe and wear them. For me, sex appeal is in the eyes and in some mystery.”

Moreover, while talking about her international presence at events this year, Preity mentioned how it’s high time we promote the wonderful work of Indian designers rather than choosing foreign labels. She mentioned, “It’s about time we are proud of our home-grown talent and showcase their creativity at global events with pride.”

Taking note of some of the latest styles, her Cannes 2024 red carpet look in a pink Seema Gujral saree was certainly breathtaking. It was indeed a look that is going to be remembered for years to come. Preity told Vogue that this look was her attempt to give an Indian touch on the international stage. She expressed, “For my red-carpet appearance, I wanted to wear something simple and Indian, as I was representing India on a global stage. The idea was to wear something elegant and classic with less drama.”

Among other stunning red carpet looks, Preity Zinta’s ombre Rahul Mishra sequined gown in Paris back in June surely stole the show. She told the publication, that she wanted to try something old school and therefore added a veil for “a little bit of drama and mystery.” The look was curated by Sonika Grover and is another statement piece from her wardrobe.
