Jaaiye Aap Kahan Jaayenge’s trailer highlights a social issue in rural India through the tale of a rickshaw puller.
The trailer of Sanjay Mishra’s latest film Jaaiye Aap Kahan Jaayenge recently dropped on YouTube and it promises a powerful story based on a social issue. The film highlights the lack of basic hygiene facilities in rural India, especially for women, through the fictional tale of a man striving to make a difference. Written and directed by Nikhil Raj Singh, the movie also had a special screening at the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
The trailer introduces Kishan, a rickshaw puller who comes back to his village after living as a sadhu in Haridwar. His angry father and resentful teenage daughter have not forgiven him for leaving them years ago. However, when a local mela approaches, Kishan faces a challenge to outdo his father in earnings. Determined to win their respect, Kishan comes up with an innovative idea—a mobile toilet rickshaw. As the trailer progresses, we see Kishan face several obstacles in his quest to make his idea a reality.
Take a look at the trailer here:
The film stars Karan Aanand as Kishan, Sanjay Mishra as his father, Adrija as his daughter and Monal Gajjar as his wife. The supporting cast includes Ishtiyaq Khan, Neeraj Sood, Subrat Dutta and Hrishita Bhatt.
In an interview with ANI, Aanand talked about how he prepared for his role as a rickshaw puller in the film.
“I tied a cloth around my face and I drove like a rickshaw driver. I have earned Rs 148. I have kept it in my house. This is how I prepared for my role to make it look realistic,” he added.
Mishra also shared his thoughts on the film. He said, “Every father wants his son to follow his footsteps and become successful in life similarly in this movie, the father wants the same for his son.”
Director Nikhil explained that his film is inspired by his own life experiences. “This story is a lot related to what I saw in my childhood, what I saw in my youth in Mumbai, and the problems I faced, I combined them and wrote this. Everything I have written is from what I experienced in my life, I saw it, I felt it,” he said.
Jaaiye Aap Kahan Jaayenge was released on November 20 on streaming platform Waves OTT.
