Mithali Raj previously held the record with seven hundreds in her long ODI career where she took part in 232 games. The third-best goes to the current Indian skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur with six ODI hundreds, followed by Punam Raut with three tons and Jaya Sharma with two centuries to her name.
The Indian unit was in a bit of danger with both Shafali Varma and Yastika Bhatia being dismissed but Mandhana along with the skipper Harmanpreet managed to take charge of the chase as India went on to cruise to a victory with just over seven overs to spare.
Mandhana showcased her class with the bat as she stuck around till the very end with a composed knock against the New Zealand side who were coming in hot form, having won the previous ODI.
She continues to be a key part of the current Indian setup and looks like she will be on the side for years to come where she hopes to put her name in the history books yet again, breaking a variety of records in the process.
The side will now have a break as they gear up for a three-match ODI series against the Australia women’s side, beginning on December 5 through to December 11 as well.
