Gujarat Titans made their IPL debut in 2022, and in the season itself, the Ahmedabad-based franchise went on to win the title under Hardik Pandya’s leadership. The CVC Capital Partners-owned side topped the points table in 2023 as well but failed to win the trophy again. After a disappointing performance in the 2024 edition of the cash-rich league, GT would like to come up with a big show in the 2025 season.

GT had few top players associated with them during the 2024 edition of the IPL, and ahead of the 2025 mega auction, the franchise would like to keep hold of a few at least.

Here’s a look at six players GT can retain ahead of IPL 2025 mega auctions.

Shubman Gill (18 crore): Shubman Gill joined Gujarat Titans from KKR for Rs 8 crore ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. The 25-year-old right-handed batter has played in all the matches for GT in the last three editions of the Indian Premier League and is the all-time leading run scorer for the franchise as well. He also led GT in IPL 2024 after being appointed as the new captain when Hardik Pandya left to join MI in a trade deal.

Rashid Khan (18 crore): Premier Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan joined GT for Rs 15 crore before the IPL 2022 mega auction, and like Gill, he has also played in all the matches for the Titans in the last three editions of the IPL and has captained in quite a few matches as well. The 26-year-old Rashid is one of the best white-ball bowlers of all time and is the leading wicket-taker (56 wickets) for GT in IPL history. Apart from his bowling, he is capable of making vital contributions with the bat as well.

Mohammed Shami (14 crore): Star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami missed the 2024 edition of IPL but is still the second leading wicket-taker (48 wickets) for the Ahmedabad-based franchise. The 34-year-old fast bowler won the Purple Cap in IPL 2023 and finished as the top wicket-taker for GT in IPL 2022 and 2023.

David Miller (14 crore): South African cricketer David Miller is a key member of GT’s batting unit, and in the last three seasons of the cash-rich league, he has proved his worth by playing many impactful knocks. With 950 runs to his name in 41 matches, the left-handed batter sits at No. 3 position in the list of leading run scorers for the franchise.

B Sai Sudharsan (11 crore): B Sai Sudharsan made his IPL debut for GT in 2022 but rose to fame after scoring 96 runs from 47 balls in the IPL 2023 final against Chennai Super Kings. The 23-year-old left-handed batter finished as the leading run scorer for GT in IPL 2024 and overall sits only behind Gill in the list of batters with most runs for the franchise in the world’s richest franchise cricket league.

Rahul Tewatia (4 crore): GT signed Haryana all-rounder Rahul Tewatia for Rs 9 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He is one of the three players to have played in all the 45 matches of the IPL for GT so far. In addition to scoring 492 runs, Tewatia has proved his worth as a finisher in the last three seasons, and he can be retained by the franchise as an uncapped player as well because he hasn’t played for India so far.
