Karan Veer Mehra, known for winning Rohit Shetty’s Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, has also appeared in many Bollywood films, including Ragini MMS 2 and Mere Dad Ki Maruti. He is currently a part of Salman Khan’s controversial reality show Bigg Boss 18. The show premiered earlier this month and the actor’s personal life has been one of the hot topics inside the BB house. He was often seen speaking about his two divorces — one from his first wife Devika Mehra, with whom he tied the knot in 2009 and separated in 2018, as well as Nidhi Seth, with whom he was married from 2021 to 2023.
Talking about his first marriage, Karan tied the knot with his childhood friend Devika and stayed for 9 years. While Karan has previously discussed his unsuccessful marriages, in 2019, he had spoken up about what went wrong in his first marriage with Devika. Speaking to Bombay Times, he shared that it was the negative aspects of stardom that had crept into his marriage and ruined it. He said, “A childhood friendship of 10 years and another eight years of marriage could not withstand the blitz of the glamor world. As my career progressed, she also chose to become a part of this charismatic world and soon we began to drift apart.”
Karan shared his thoughts and explained that he felt like he was slipping down in his wife’s priority list. As a result, their equation shifted and he also got linked to his co-stars and creative producers. “And it was the beginning of the end,” he stated. He further claimed that his early success made him careless, and he made big decisions like marriage without thinking.
After his separation from Devika in 2018, the actor married Nidhi Seth in 2021 and the duo got divorced in 2023. Following their separation, Nidhi shifted to Bengaluru to pursue her career as an interior designer.
Recently, while talking to ETimesTV, Nidhi called her marriage with Karan the “biggest mistake of her life.” She said, “When I realised things weren’t working out, I decided to leave. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough understanding in this world regarding specific personality traits and behaviours that might harm relationships.”
At present, Karan Veer Mehra is one of the strongest contestants inside the Bigg Boss 18 house.
