In his notice to Telangana minister Konda Surekha, BRS leader KT Rama Rao has warned that failure to comply with his demand will lead to legal action, including defamation and criminal cases
Senior BRS leader KT Rama Rao on Wednesday sent a legal notice to Telangana minister Konda Surekha, who has sparked a massive controversy by alleging that he was behind the divorce of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya.
In his notice, Rao has demanded that Surekha should retract her statement and issue a public apology within 24 hours. He has warned that failure to comply will lead to legal action, including defamation and criminal cases.
The former minister claimed that Surekha was simply using the names of the prominent actors in the south Indian film industry to further her political agenda. The BRS, meanwhile, said her remarks about KTR were “uncouth”, “cheap and disgusting”.
Tagging senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in their post on X, the party further asked them to deal with this “stupidity”. “The Congress party holds no moral ground to preach about the Constitution or its values anymore. Such stupidity will be dealt with appropriately and politically. Your leaders are only digging a grave for your party with their motormouth and uncouth remarks,” it wrote.
