Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and other Team India stars have made their way to Kanpur ahead of the 2nd Test against Bangladesh.

India’s ace-batter, Virat Kohli has arrived in Kanpur ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh which is set to begin on September 27 at the Green Park Stadium.

Kohli along with other members of the Indian squad, have made their way to the Hotel. After their arrival, the players were greeted grandly as the likes of Rishabh Pant and Kohli were gifted bouquets.

The 35-year-old made his return to the longest format after roughly eight months. However, the return proved to be an anti-climatic one as Kohli failed to deliver with the bat.

The Indian batting star who has carried the side for several years has seen a decline in form particularly in the longest format. However, many hope that he can get back to his very best after retiring from the T20I format after helping Team India win the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados earlier this year.

However, his return to the longest format, during the first Test in Chennai proved to be yet another reminder of the issues that plague his batting. Time and again Kohli has been found reaching outside the off-stump through which the edge carried on to the wicketkeeper.

But to be fair to the batting star, Kohli has also shown that he can come out of the slump as well. It could be a matter of time until we see Kohli get back to his very best scoring the big runs for the national side.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced an unchanged squad for the Test in Kanpur.

Kohli will hope that the conditions in Kanpur would prove to be suited to him much better. Earlier reports suggest that a black soil pitch would likely be used which has a lesser bounce than that in Chennai. This could prove to be the catalyst needed to see Kohli get a big score on the board.

The Indian selectors will hope that Kohli will be in top form as the calendar winds down for the headline event of the year, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 where Team India tour Australia for a five-match series beginning on November, later this year.

Earlier in the day, the Press Trust of India, also uploaded a video which showed that Rohit Sharma and the rest of the Indian team have also made their way to Kanpur for the 2nd Test against Bangladesh.
