Star India athlete Neeraj Chopra has achieved global stardom with fans lining up to take pictures with him wherever he’s competing.

Star India javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra recently competed with a fractured wrist at the season ending Brussels Diamond League and still managed to finish second. With that, Chopra’s season came to an end that saw him clinch a silver medal at the recent Paris Olympics – his second straight medal at the quadrennial spectacle after he created history with a gold medal winning performance in Tokyo.

Thanks to his exploits, Neeraj has become a superstar in India and if a recent video is to be believed, his fanbase is widening.

An undated clip is going viral on social media where fans can be seen hogging Neeraj for selfies with one taking the leap and asking the 26-year-old for his number.

While Neeraj obliged them with selfies, he politely turned down the request to share his number.

Meanwhile, Neeraj has been battling with fitness concerns for some time now. A groin injury meant he wasn’t able to go full throttle in the final of the men’s javelin throw event in Paris.

“As the 2024 season ends, I look back on everything I’ve learned through the year – about improvement, setbacks, mentality and more,” Neeraj posted on X.

“On Monday, I injured myself in practice and x-rays showed that I had fractured the fourth metacarpal in my left hand. It was another painful challenge for me. But with the help of my team, I was able to participate in Brussels,” he added.

Chopra will now work on his fitness and is eyeing a roaring return when the fresh season gets underway.

“This (Brussells) was the last competition of the year, and I wanted to end my season on the track. While I couldn’t meet my own expectations, I feel this was a season in which I learned a lot. I am now determined to return, fully fit and ready to go,” the Tokyo Olympics Gold Medallist read. I want to thank all of you for your encouragement. 2024 has made me a better athlete and person. See you in 2025. Jai Hind!” Neeraj wrote.
