Saim Ayub’s no-look shot goes teribbly wrong
Ayub went early into the no-look shot as the ball went straight to Mohammad Huraira at mid-off after taking the leading edge.
Pakistan batter Saim Ayub suffered a second consecutive disappointment in the ongoing Champions Cup at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. Representing Team Panthers, the 18-year-old coped with an embarrassing dismissal while playing a no-look shot against the Dolphins on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the third over of the Panthers’ innings when Ayub attempted to punch his trademark no-look shot against Mir Hamza, who had bowled a length delivery that moved away after pitching. Ayub went early into the no-look shot as the ball went straight to Mohammad Huraira at mid-off after taking the leading edge.
Ayub could score a mere six runs off 12 deliveries. Notably, it was his second failure in as many matches of the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup. In his previous outing, he scored a 15-ball 20 against Markhors on Thursday.
Ayub’s failed attempt to get six runs led to unending trolling on social media. Here’s how the fans reacted:

Ex-wicketkeeper slams Ayub
Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal lashed out at Ayub over the casual dismissal, stating he would not have let the young batter come near the team.
“Honestly, if I were in charge, I swear I wouldn’t let Saim come near the team for the next two years after getting out like he did in the first innings of the second Test,” Akmal told a Pakistani sports website.
