Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla welcomed their twin daughters last year. They revealed the names of the babies on Instagram.

TV actress Rubina Dilaik is enjoying a delightful new phase in her life as she embraces motherhood. Since the arrival of her twin daughters in November 2023, Rubina has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family. With the unwavering support of her husband, Abhinav Shukla, she has gracefully resumed her professional endeavours while maintaining a perfect balance between her personal and work life. Recently, Rubina candidly shared her experiences of navigating her career after becoming a mother, revealing some unexpected challenges she has encountered.

In her recent podcast Kisine Bataya Nahi, Rubina invited her friend, actor Sharad Kelkar, when the duo got talking about the practice of typecasting in the industry. Upon being complimented over her post-pregnancy transformation and dedication to work, Rubina exclaimed that she has started receiving “bhabhi” roles.

The actress began by addressing the existing stigma, stating, “When female actors welcome kids, they are being categorised in a certain way,” and questioned why the same scrutiny doesn’t apply to male actors. In response, Kelkar pointed out that male actors generally escape such stigma, while female actresses become the focus of public scrutiny.

He observed that, unlike in the past when fitness wasn’t as emphasised, many actresses now prioritise their physical appearance and well-being. Sharad Kelkar mentioned that actresses like Kareena Kapoor and Rubina herself have returned to their pre-pregnancy shapes after childbirth.

To this, Rubina added, “I have started receiving bhabhi-type roles,” further questioning if the same changes happen with the male actors after becoming parents.

After announcing their pregnancy in September of the previous year, Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla welcomed twin baby girls, Edhaa and Jeeva, in November 2023. A month later, they shared their daughters’ names along with some heartwarming photos. On Instagram, they expressed their joy, writing, “Excited and extremely happy to share that our daughters, Jeeva and Edhaa are one month old Today …. Universe blessed us on the auspicious day of Gurpurab!

Rising to fame with her role in Choti Bahu, Rubina Dilaik has worked in many other shows like Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, Bigg Boss 14 and Khatron Ke Khiladi. She entered the Bigg Boss house with her husband and emerged as the winner of that particular season.
