Ali Khan was part of the Monank Patel-led USA team that defeated Pakistan by five runs in the super over of the T20 World Cup 2024 match played in Dallas on June 6.

The United States of America men’s cricket team made its T20 World Cup debut in the 2024 edition of the shortest format megaevent, which was played in the USA and West Indies in June, and after getting the better of Canada in the tournament’s opener, it stunned the fans by defeating Pakistan in the second Group A match played in Dallas on June 6. The Monank Patel-led side scored 159 runs in 20 overs to force a tie and then won the match by five runs in the Super Over.

Captain Monank top-scored the T20 World Cup 2024 co-hosts by amassing a total of 50 runs from 38 balls in the run chase, and then Mumbai-born Saurabh Netravalkar successfully defended 19 runs in the super over to seal a famous win for the USA.

More than a couple of months after the USA’s win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan-born USA pacer Ali Khan has fired a warning to Men in Green by saying that his side is capable of repeating the 2024 T20 World Cup performance and defeating Pakistan again.

In a video going viral on the internet, Attock-born 33-year-old said, “I think we are capable enough of beating them (Pakistan) again. If we get a chance to play them again. No disrespect to them, but I think we are a really good side now, and once we are like a full-strength squad, we can beat any team on our day, not just Pakistan. But it will be a great game if we get a rematch with Pakistan.”

Ali made his international debut for the USA against Papua New Guinea on April 27, 2019, during an ODI match played in Windhoek, and his first T20I was against the same opponent in Coolidge on November 7, 2021. Overall, he has played 15 ODIs and 14 T20Is for the USA so far and has 33 and 12 wickets, respectively, to his name.

In the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Pakistan, Ali, who was also associated with KKR in the IPL, picked up Fakhar Zaman’s wicket and conceded 30 runs in his quota of four overs.
