An iteration of the sporting extravaganza which had everything needed to create an everlasting mark, and the Paris Paralympics did incredibly well to piggyback on the feel-good factor of the Olympics, and take the Paralympic movement to the next level.

Nothing but bigger and better things for all the brave athletes, who thrilled us throughout the runtime of the games.

And to top it off, a celebration that involved everything from lights to music to choreography. A fete indeed, Paris. A fete indeed!

The Paralympic flame was extinguished in ceremonial fashion before Paris burst into a party as Jean-Michel Jarre took over the stereo systems.

Brekabot followed up on the party as he bellowed his version of ‘Your Wish is my Command’.

But it did not end there as Nathalie Duchene continued from where Brekabot had left off!

The Parisians party will go deep into the night with artists such as Kittin, Kungs, Martin Solveig, Kavinasky, Ofenbach, The Avener, Kiddy Smile and so on follow one after the other to keep the French party going.

It is time to turn our attention to the Olympic flame, which will be extinguished to mark the end of the sporting spectacle in Paris!

The French athletes will oversee the rare privilege of being able to put the flame out and mark the end of a remarkable campaign on home soil.

Cut to an AV featuring top billed US Paralympians Samantha Bosco, Ezra French and Jamal Hill, set in the backdrop of Los Angeles thrills the fans before Anderson. Paak takes over with his music stylings!

The crowd is urged to get up on its feet for the Paralympic anthem.

The Paralympic flag is brought down as the music continues to play in traditional style before being folded to perfection as the French prepare for the handover.

Andrew Parsons, Tony Estanguet, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and LA mayor Karen Bass take centrestage as the handover of the flag is complete.

Hildago transfers the flag to Parsons, who entrusts the flag to Bass, who waves it with pride!

The anthem of the USA is blared through the stadium as is customary with an Ali Stroker-rendition of the same. The American flag goes up the mast and the star sprangled banner flutters.

Denise Schindler, San Yu Jan, Yumin Jun are introduced as the athlete representatives before the volunteers are cheered on!

The volunteers, who have been the heart of the event, are greeted to a raucous applause from the crowd before DJ Cult Killer gets the dancers moving to his tunes.

The performers break into acrobatic moves at the drop of a beat to stun the onlookers!

IPC chief Andrew Parsons takes the microphone following Estanguet’s impassionate note of thanks.

Parsons beams with joy over the most stunning Paralympic games ever and thanks the fans and organizers for channeling their might and creativity into the quadrennial event.

He calls for the audience, who witnessed history at Paris, to make the world more inclusive and seek opportunities in adversities.

‘Diversity should unites us,’ he says.

He thanks President Macron for all his work towards the quadrennial and everyone involved in making the City of Lights accessible to differently-abled people.

He hails the ‘stars of the show’, the athletes, who thrilled the city of blinding lights across the various venues.

The chief declares the Paralympics Games 2024 closed.

Tony Estanguet, the chief of the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics takes center stage to give his appraisal of the successful event.

‘A story of encounter’, he terms the landmark games as he rallies the crowd to acknowledge how much the efforts of the athletes have moved the world.

He calls for a standing ovation and the audience obliges. And fittingly so as it is the least these brave athletes who have entertained us for over a week now deserve.

The ovation continues as Estanguet needs to pause for a bit before continuing his speech in English.

The Frenchman touched upon the Paralympic revolution the event promised and delivered in more ways than one as the athletes have altered the way in which the world looks at the disability.

He thanks the fans for being active throughout the campaign and for coming out in the thousands to ensure the success of the games.

Estanguet expresses his delight with the ‘Happy Parisian Summer’ and rallies the nation to thank the volunteers and move ahead with their daring efforts.
