Rishabh Pant broke down the key differences between Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhir as the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team.

As Rishabh Pant now embarks on his journey to make a return to red-ball cricket, he has now been under two different head coaches for the national team Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhir. The Indian wicketkeeper batter explained the difference between the two former Indian legends as head coach of the Men in Blues.

Speaking in an interview with JioCinema, Pant was able to explain the key differences between the two Head Coaches of the Indian team.

He said, “I feel Rahul Bhai was very balanced as a human being and as a coach which can sometimes be good and sometimes bad. Because I feel in the cricketing journey, you can be fully positive or fully negative which depends on the individuals on where they focus”.

On Gambhir, Pant suggested that the new Head Coach can be a bit more focused on the fact that his side has to win.

“When it comes to Gauti bhai, he is a bit more aggressive. A lot more one-sided on winning. But to find out that balance is the best part of international cricket,” he added.

Pant will now look to use the Duleep Trophy as preparations for him to possibly get a call-up to the Indian Test side. The Indian team will be taking on Bangladesh and New Zealand in a two and three-match series respectively at home.

The wicket-keeper batter spoke about their preparation for the upcoming India-Bangladesh series, “Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka perform well in Asian conditions because they are accustomed to the wickets. However, as the Indian cricket team, we focus solely on our own standards and how we can improve. Regardless of the opposition, we strive to play with the same intensity and give our hundred per cent every single day.”

Pant’s return to red-ball cricket turned out to be a short-lived one as he was dismissed prematurely on a low score yesterday. However, he will look to make due for lost time in the second innings of the match for India B.
