Meghan Markle’s new brand, American Riviera Orchard, goes viral but faces delays due to trouble finding a CEO

Meghan Markle is grappling with delays in launching her new lifestyle brand due to her ongoing struggle to find a CEO, according to a report by the New York Post (NYP).

American Riviera Orchard, which went viral online with a teaser on March 14, is named after the couple’s coastal California home and aims to offer a range of kitchen and lifestyle products. Despite the buzz, the search for a suitable leader is causing significant setbacks in the brand’s rollout.

“The numbers don’t lie, and to have almost 20 members of staff quitting on them tells its own story,” the source told NYP. They added that Prince Harry and Meghan are “very demanding and difficult to work for,” which has caused frustration among employees.

Markle’s recently hired chief of staff, Josh Kettler, left the position after just three months. Kettler, a public relations expert, was brought on to help Prince Harry navigate his public engagements, including a trip to London for the Invictus Games. His departure was described as mutual, with both parties agreeing it wasn’t the right fit.

Despite these setbacks, Markle’s brand has made a splash with its initial offerings. In March, she delivered jars of strawberry jam to select celebrities, marking a strong start for American Riviera Orchard. The brand’s Instagram account features a retro-style video showcasing Markle in her kitchen, hinting at a focus on home, cooking, and entertaining.

The brand’s trademark applications suggest a diverse product lineup, including kitchenware, edible treats like jams and spreads, and even cosmetics. The name “American Riviera” references Santa Barbara, California, where Markle and Harry reside, a region known for its Mediterranean climate and lush landscapes.

While there is no confirmed launch date, reports indicate that American Riviera Orchard is expected to debut later in 2024. The brand’s Instagram bio states it was “established in 2024” and is described as a reflection of Markle’s personal style and interests.
