    Poland Responds To Zelensky’s MiG Request, Says Supply Possible Under One Condition ‘US Must


    On August 27, Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh stated that Poland cannot transfer MiG-29 jets to Ukraine until it receives F-35s, expected no earlier than 2026. He emphasized Poland’s need to prioritize its own security, despite having already donated substantial military equipment to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had urged Poland to supply the MiG-29s, citing their importance for Ukraine’s air defense. Former Polish Defense Minister Janusz Onyszkiewicz suggested that the MiG-29s might be available in about six months, depending on the F-35 delivery schedule.
