NFL legend Tom Brady has made a bold Lionel Messi claim after meeting the Argentine during a Major League Soccer (MLS) game. Following the club’s weekend fixture against Cincinnati, Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham was photographed alongside Messi and Brady.
Beckham later shared the snap on Instagram and wrote, “The Greatest. Doesn’t get any better. Leo Messi, Tom Brady to watch us go into the playoffs.” As the world appreciated seeing the three sports icons together, Brady gave a hilarious reaction in the comments section. Referring to his co-owned club, the ex-NFL star jokingly expressed his wish to bring the Argentine icon to Birmingham City. “I’m bringing Lionel Messi back to Birmingham with me. Sorry, David Beckham,” he said.
One of the greatest players in NFL history, Tom Brady retired from the sport last year in February. Since retiring, the American sports icon has been actively involved in the footballing circuit. He also became a minority shareholder at Birmingham City last year.

Beckham was suited up in the photograph, whereas both Messi and Brady were rolling in casual outfits. Speaking of the game, Luis Suarez was unstoppable at the Chase Stadium on August 25 as he scored a brace. He found an early lead for Inter Miami. He followed up with his second goal five minutes later to make it 2-0 for the hosts. Inter Miami are currently eight points clear of the second-placed Cincinnati in the Eastern Conference.
Inter Miami are still missing Lionel Messi as the Argentine legend is recovering from an ankle injury. He endured the setback in the Copa America 2024 final against Colombia. Despite Messi’s unavailability, La Albiceleste claimed a victory to win the competition.
As for Lionel Messi’s return, he will likely be back before the end of the regular season which concludes on October 19. Inter Miami are next set to face Chicago in the MLS. The match will take place this weekend, September 1 at Soldier Field.
