Olmo missed the first two games of the season while awaiting his status to be cleared, and Hansi Flick admitted on Monday that the player was already getting frustrated over the issue.

Finally, some good news for Barcelona fans arrives, as midfielder Dani Olmo has been officially registered as a Barcelona signing and shall make his debut for Barcelona in their La Liga clash against Rayo Vallecano today.

Olmo, who was signed for a reported 60 million euros from RB Leipzig, was finally registered by La Liga, for the long-term absence of Andreas Christensen.

The Blaugranas have already been offloading this offseason, with the likes of Clement Lenglet, Ilkay Gundogan, Mika Faye and Vitor Roque all leaving Camp Nou this summer.

But now, he is finally set to make his debut, as he was named in the squad list for Barca’s La Liga encounter against Rayo Vallecano.

Olmo missed the first two games of the season while awaiting his status to be cleared, and Hansi Flick admitted on Monday that the player was already getting frustrated over the issue.

“I always have hope, I was hoping he’d play in the last game. It would be awesome to have him for [Tuesday]’s match.

“These are things that the player and the team can’t control. We’ve spoken about this situation, we know it’s a difficult thing here at Barcelona. I believe in the club and I hope we can register him for [Tuesday]’s game. Any player who can’t play, obviously, is not happy. But he knows why. I’m certain that if he makes the list he’ll be 100% ready.”

Moreover, Barcelona do not have to cancel the registration of the Danish player as long as they do not have the 25 first-team players covered, as has happened with Araujo or last season with Gavi.

Playmaker Olmo finished as joint top scorer at Euro 2024 with three goals as he helped La Roja win the competition for a record fourth time.

The 26-year-old played for Barcelona at youth level before joining Dinamo Zagreb in 2014.

Olmo’s arrival was the first under new Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, who was appointed in May following a disappointing campaign under predecessor Xavi Hernandez.
