While addressing a press conference on Thursday, Inspector Leanne Chapman of the West Midlands Police dog unit said they were informed that at least two dogs were missing, however they are now suspecting the involvement of a third dog

A 33-year old man, who was allegedly found dead in the back garden of a house in Birmingham, is believed to have been killed by two dogs. The police is currently hunting the two dogs, who belong to a breed similar to that of the American bulldog, but are still not under the category of a banned breed.

The cops have seized two dogs as of now but are still looking for two more dogs.

As per a BBC report, Supt Sally Simpson said, “The investigation into his death is continuing and our priority right now is finding the other dogs that we believe may have been involved.”

While addressing a press conference on Thursday, Inspector Leanne Chapman of the West Midlands Police dog unit said they were informed that at least two dogs were missing, however they are now suspecting the involvement of a third dog.

She said, “Everything is pointing towards there being two outstanding dogs.”

One of the two dogs that had already been seized had suffered “injuries to his head” and it was possible the other dogs they were searching for could also be injured, she further clarified.

In connection to the case, the police found the victim outside where they seized the two dogs.

Inspector Chapman also said that the dogs had been living at the home where the man had been found but the victim had been living at some other place.

She further explained, “He wasn’t living at that property,” while adding that the dogs were related to him through family but they weren’t his dogs.

“We’ve got no history of these dogs biting as far as the police are aware,” she added.

She further clarified that there was no information which had suggested the dogs were not taken care of.

A post-mortem examination is currently being carried out to identify the cause behind the man’s death.

Police said they are currently working on the belief that the victim was attacked by at least one dog, which may have led to his death.
