Breakker picked up the final fall when he hit Sami with another devastating Spear, connecting with Zayn as the former champion jumped from the top rope, making for a jaw-dropping finale.
This week’s main event of RAW saw Zayn get a rematch against Breakker for the IC title, but this time it was in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match, that promised a thrilling finish.
Sami Zayn captured the first fall with an incredible Helluva Kick. Bron Breakker roared back, hitting Zayn with two Spears shortly after launching the challenger into the ring barricade with incredible force. He then picked up the final fall when he hit Sami with another devastating Spear, connecting with Zayn as the former champion jumped from the top rope, making for a jaw-dropping finale.
The reigning Intercontinental Champion cornered the challenger after the bell, but it didn’t take Zayn long to turn things around adn get going. Going to take the early lead, Zayn ended up scoring the first fall with a Helluva Kick to go up 1-0 and inch closer to the title at stake.
Zayn tried to play off the momentum and went for the kill with a Crucifix and a Moonsault on Breakker on the outside off the barricade, but Breakker caught him and sent him over the barricade near the timekeeper’s area, as he scored the pinfall to tie the score at 1-1 with two Spears in a row.
With one final fall needed for either wrestler to win, the third bout made for one hell of a finish, as Breakker went aerial to pile Zayn through the announcer’s desk with a clothesline.
A relentless Zayn somehow stayed alive, making it back into the ring on time, and went on the counter, delivering a Sunset Flip powerbomb, before going for a pin. But, Breakker kicked out, sparking an intense back-and-forth, as the fighters traded blows. But, it all lead up to the ultimate moment, when Zayn then looked to fly off the top, but Breakker caught him with a spear mid-air to pin him for a win and retained the title.
