Biden, who is likely frustrated with Netanyahu, reportedly told him to “stop bullshitting me” during their phone conversation on August 1. Biden’s outburst came as “he realised that Netanyahu was lying to him about the hostages”. At the end of the phone conversation, Biden also reportedly said “don’t take the president for granted”. A report by The Telegraph claims Biden’s decision to drop out of the US presidential election has emboldened Netanyahu to strike Iran. Meanwhile, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and IDF chief Herzi Halevi reportedly told Netanyahu that his insistence on new terms will sabotage hostage deal talks.
