WASHINGTON, D.C. (WITN) – President Joe Biden has issued an emergency declaration for parts of North Carolina due to Tropical Storm Debby.
The declaration comes after Gov. Roy Cooper declared a state of emergency late yesterday afternoon.
The president’s order allows the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief efforts.
The counties included are Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Halifax, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pitt, Wayne, and Wilson.
