Russia has developed a first-person view (FPV) “Doomsday drone” for reconnaissance in nuclear scenarios, according to Dmitry Kuzyakin, CEO of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions. Named ‘Khrust,’ this small, maneuverable drone can monitor radiation and ensure personnel safety in contaminated environments. It features sensors for toxic substances and dosimeters for radiation detection. The drone can be deployed in 30 seconds, has a flight time of up to 20 minutes, and operates within a range of 500 meters to 2 kilometers, depending on contamination levels. This innovation addresses the need for rapid assessments in nuclear incidents.
