People are advised to avoid tying rakhi during the Bhadra period, which falls between 5:53 AM and 1:32 PM. According to astrologer Chakrapani Bhatt from Kashi, six coincidences are being made this year on this occasion.

    Raksha Bandhan 2024: Date

    According to the Hindu calendar, the Sawan Purnima Tithi will start at 3:04 AM on Monday, August 19, and it will end at 11:55 pm on the same date. Based on the date of sunrise, the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 19.

    Auspicious coincidences:

    This year, six auspicious coincidences are being formed on Raksha Bandhan, due to which the festival of Rakhi will be very auspicious and fruitful. On the day of Rakhi, there is Raj Panchak, Sawan Somvaar, Sawan Purnima, while Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga, Ravi Yoga and Shobhan Yoga are being formed. Due to these auspicious coincidences, the festival of Raksha Bandhan will become special.

    1. Raj Panchak: On the day of Rakshabandhan, Raj Panchak starts at 07:00 PM and continues till 05:53 AM the next day. It brings success in property and government work.

    2. Sawan Somvaar: Sawan Somvaar is considered a very auspicious day. On this day, people keep fast and worship Lord Shiva. This time, the month of Shravan is also ending on Monday. Devotees’ wishes will be fulfilled by fasting and worshipping on Sawan Somvaar.

    3. Sawan Purnima: The Sawan Purnima is also observed on this Raksha Bandhan. Taking bath, making donations and fasting on Sawan Purnima brings good fortune. Organising Satyanarayan Katha on Purnima brings happiness, peace and prosperity in the family.

    4. Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga: Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga, which provides success in all works, is also being formed on Raksha Bandhan. This yoga will last from 05:53 AM to 08:10 AM.

    5. Ravi Yoga: On the day of Raksha Bandhan, Ravi Yoga is also from 05:53 AM to 08:10 AM. In this, the effect of the sun is more and all the defects are eliminated in this yoga.

    6. Shobhan Yoga: On Raksha Bandhan, Shobhan Yoga is there for the whole day. Its ruling planet is Dev Guru Jupiter, who is a symbol of auspiciousness.

    Bhadra will last from 05:53 AM to 01:32 PM on Rakshabandhan. You should avoid tying Rakhi during this period.

    Rakhi tying muhurta:

    The auspicious time to tie Rakhi on August 19 is from 1:32 PM in the afternoon to 9:08 PM in the night. On this basis, this year the Raksha Bandhan muhurta will last for more than seven hours.
