Ten people were involved in a fatal car crash in south Florida on Monday evening and only one passenger survived, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
On Monday, August 5, at around 7:30 p.m., first responders found a vehicle overturned and submerged in a canal near Belle Glade, with only the wheels of the car above water.
Four of the 10 passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, six passengers were hospitalized and only one of the six survived.

According to PBSO, the crash occurred in a canal at the 5800 block of Hatton Highway near Lake Okeechobee and Belle Glade, Florida.
According to reports from WPBF and ABC, a sheriff’s deputy was also injured while attempting to find any survivors in the water.

Yes, nine of the 10 people who were in the vehicle died in the crash.
According to reports from PBSO and local news outlets, four people died at the scene of the crash and five of the six who were sent to the hospital also passed away due to their injuries. There was only one survivor.
“The lone survivor, identified as 26-year-old passenger Jorden Hall, remained hospitalized in serious condition at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach,” the sheriff’s office told The Palm Beach Post on Tuesday morning.Â
“Deputies did not disclose the names of either the driver or other passengers and did not provide a place of residence for Hall.”
