Maheshwari Chauhan (R) & Anantjeet Naruka to face Jiang Yiting & Lyu Jianlin of China

Indian shooters Maheshwari Chauhan and Ananjteet Singh Naruka qualified for the skeet shooting mixed team bronze medal match on Monday. The duo ended 4th in the qualification round with a total of 146 points; Maheshwari scored 74 while Naruka accumulated 72. They will now face Jiang Yiting & Lyu Jianlin of China, who finished 3rd with these many points, in the next round on Monday evening, aiming at the bronze medal.
The Indian duo aggregated 146 in the qualifications and will lock horns with China for the bronze medal. The Indian pair was placed tied second with a score of 49 after the first stage in the qualification, sharing the position with Australia, Korea, France and two Italian teams.
Anantjeet Singh Naruka scored 25/25 in the first round of the qualification while Maheshwari Chauhan shot 24/25 to take India’s total to 49. In the second round, it was Maheshwari’s turn to shoot a perfect 25 but Naruka missed two shots each in the 2nd and 5th series to tally 23, which gave them an aggregate score of 48.
In the third round, India got 49 with 25 for Maheshwari and 24 for Naruka.
On the other hand, the gold medal match will see the shooters of Italy and the United States of America competing against each other. The Italian pair of Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti clinched the first position in the qualification with a total of 149 points. The American duo of Vincent Hancock and Austen Jewell Smith stood second with a score of 148.
